Loskom (Pty) Ltd. is a family based business run by Trichardt Viljoen and his daughter Lizé Saunders. When the offer was made to us to manage the VW Waste Management Contract from the 1st of October 2016, we accepted the offer and decided to run it as a family.

We have however been specializing in wooden pallet recycling & production of wooden pallets since 1994 and is also in the process of expanding the company as we grow.

Recycling Process
In the recycling process, teams break each pallet/crate apart. Planks are used for reproduction/manufacturing of local/export pallets. We also sell these planks to leading companies manufacturing pallets/crates etc. for both the local as well as export market. We currently have a workforce of just less than 100 staff members and vary based on the workload.

Manufacturing
Loskom (Pty) Ltd. manufactures both local and export pallets. We are registered with DAFF for Methyl Bromide. Our aim is to have our own heat treatment plant up and running before mid year 2017.

Recovery & Second Hand Pallets
During the recycling process we generate a lot of waste that goes into a recovery process where broken planks are recovered and cut to size. Those planks are used on a standard 1m x 1.2 citrus pallet for local use at a discounted price.

Waste
The recycling & recovery process also generates waste, putting us in the generous position of supplying the townships with planks and pallets for housing as well as providing firewood for feeding their families each day. The municipality has also granted us two dumping sites that gives the townships a local point for collection of scrap wood.

We are BEE Registered through SEESA.

At Loskom (Pty) Ltd we believe in investing in our employees. We are registered with SEESA for Skills Development allowing us to invest in the future of our employees where they have unlimited access to training courses.
